Biography
George Kontaxakis is Associate Professor at the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM) and is currently Vice-Chair of the Department of Electronic Engineering at UPM. He holds a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University, NJ, USA. He held various research positions at the University Hospital Clinic of Frankfurt, German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in Darmstadt (Germany) and the Macquarie University in Sydney (Australia).
Research Interest
His main areas of scientific expertise are molecular image reconstruction, design and performance evaluation of nuclear medicine equipment as well as e-Health applications. His research work has been published at more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and approx. 130 scientific conference proceedings.
