Biography: Dr. Goutam Thakur is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University, India. He received his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Master’s in Biomedical Engineering (Jadavpur University, India) and earned PhD in Medical Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India. He has worked both in industry and in academia. He was an International Visiting Research fellow at Ryerson University, Canada (2008-2009). He has presented paper in some prestigious International conferences abroad and earned accolades. He has been honoured with European Doctoral Award (2012) and Rudolph Cimdin Award (2009) by European Society of Biomaterials and was also nominated for Young Investigator Award at ISOMRM-2010, Taiwan. He has peer-reviewed international published articles to his credit.

Currently working as a Professor and Head Electronics Engineering at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India. Worked as a research associate in IIT Bombay in the department of Systems and Control Engineering. Completed PhD from IIT Bombay, India.

Fault tolerant control, Nonlinear Model Predictive Control, Model Based fault Detection and Identification, System Identification for complex nonlinear systems.
